Who Is A Good Candidate?

Whether drooping eyelids are due to the natural aging process or they are passed down genetically through the generations, the condition can be frustrating and demands an aesthetic solution. Patients who underwent cataract surgery, those who use contact lenses, and those with certain medical ailments may also struggle with eyelid ptosis. For patients who wish to avoid the risks, discomfort, scarring, and recovery time associated with plastic surgery, Upneeq eyedrops may be the perfect treatment option.

How Does Upneeq Work?

Upneeq was created to address acquired blepharoptosis, an ailment in which the upper lids grow weak and begin to sag. Upneeq is an alpha-adrenergic agonist made with oxymetazoline hydrochloride ophthalmic solution, 0.1%. Oxymetazoline. The main ingredient triggers the Mueller’s muscle in the eyelid to contract, resulting in a temporary but dramatic lift. The elevation is about 1-3 mm after applying the eye drops.

How Can I Prepare For Upneeq?

The best way to prepare for Upneeq is to discuss the treatment with your doctor and make sure it will achieve your goals for improvement. Make sure the liquid is clear before use. If you wear contacts, make sure you remove them before applying Upneeq. Only replace them again after at least 15 minutes.

How Are Upneeq Eyedrops Applied?

When you apply Upneeq, you will need to tilt your head back and resist the urge to close your eyes. You will hold the eyedropper directly above the eye and then administer one drop. Now you can close your eyes and allow Upneeq to be absorbed. Wait at least one minute before blinking or rubbing your eyes. Also, make sure the vial never actually touches your eye during this process to avoid contamination.

How Long Before I See Improvement?

Upneeq is a prescription medication that can be applied daily or “as needed.” You will typically see results within a matter of minutes to hours.

Is There Any Downtime?

With Upneeq, there is zero downtime or recovery. You should wait at least 15 minutes after applying the drops before operating machinery or driving.
