Types of vaginal rejuvenation
The term vaginal rejuvenation actually encompasses several different methods. Whatever issues you have, Dr. Courtney will do everything he can to address them.
While each person, and thus procedure, are going to be different, there are several general categories that Dr. Courtney’s methods fall into:
Labiaplasty and Clitoral Hood Reduction
Labiaplasty’s primary intent is to shorten the labia minora. In addition to the confidence boost you can get from the visual improvement, a labiaplasty can also drastically improve your day-to-day comfort. Dr. Courtney performs this method either by trimming extra tissue and sewing it directly or by using a wedge method. Patients who experience rubbing, tugging, or other forms of discomfort are almost always thrilled with their results. If needed, Dr. Courtney can also pair your labiaplasty with a clitoral hood reduction, which may be necessary to maintain visual balance.
Labia Majoraplasty
In addition to labia minora reduction, Dr. Courtney can also surgically resize the labia majora, or the area in between the labia minora and the mons. In this method, Dr. Courtney will remove two slight crescents of skin from each labium’s inner portion. The amount he removes will depend upon how much extra tissue you have in the area and your desired results. He’ll then close your incisions with dissolvable sutures.
Monsplasty
The mons, or the upper hair-bearing section of your vagina, is another common area of concern. The mons often contains excess skin and tissues that may be a source of discomfort. Fortunately, Dr. Courtney’s expertise has helped many patients find relief. Dr. Courtney will either remove tissues surgically or use liposuction, depending on your needs.
Vaginoplasty
A vaginoplasty looks to retighten the vaginal interior. Vaginoplasty tightens the separated muscles in the vagina, and the extra mucosa skin from the back of the vagina is removed. Dr. Courtney can also pair this with one or more of the other external procedures to give you a full rejuvenation. Dr. Courtney will remove an exact amount of tissues from the inside of your vagina to restore the perfect amount of tightness.
