What is Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 is a minimally-invasive device that is FDA-approved to improve the skin on the face and body with radiofrequency (RF) technology powerfully combined with the restorative effects of microneedling.

Traditional microneedling is performed with a device equipped with ultra-fine needles. This device is passed over the skin, causing the needles to create “micro-injuries” in the skin. This triggers the body to produce collagen and elastin, the natural building blocks that renew and restructure the skin at the cellular level to achieve tighter, more radiant skin.

With Morpheus8, microneedling is taken to the next level by adding RF energy. The Morpheus8 device sends RF waves into the skin to heat up the underlying tissues. This effectively destroys small pockets of fat and provides a more significant boost in the production of collagen, resulting in a fresh skin tone, reduced wrinkles, and a number of other benefits for the face or other areas of the body.

What Can I Expect During a Morpheus8 Treatment

We will begin by applying an anesthetic cream to the skin to ensure your comfort during the treatment. Once this takes effect, the Morpheus8 handpiece will be passed over your skin in the targeted treatment area.

The 24 silicone-coated pins of the Morpheus8 handpiece will create micro-injuries as the device is moved over the skin. At the same time, the device emits RF energy to heat the underlying layer of skin and liquefy unwanted fat. As the needles pass over your skin, you may feel a slight prickling sensation and a feeling of warmth. Patients do not describe this sensation to be painful.

Once the device has been passed over the skin, we will apply active topical ingredients. These are more deeply absorbed by the skin after microneedling, providing increased benefits. 

A Morpheus8 treatment takes about one hour. For the most ideal results, we typically recommend 2-3 sessions of Morpheus8, done 4-6 weeks apart.

Morpheus8 Body Treatments

Morpheus8 is a powerful treatment to rejuvenate the skin of other areas of the body beyond the face. Almost any area of the body can be treated with Morpheus8, including the neck and chest, abdomen and flanks, bottom, thighs, hands, and more. 

Body treatments with Morpheus8 can be used to treat the following concerns:

Who is a Candidate for Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 is a safe, effective treatment for most men or women with skin concerns and/or mild-to-moderate skin laxity. Ideal candidates for Morpheus8 meet the following requirements:

  • Skin laxity is not severe
  • Are generally in good health 
  • Do not smoke
  • Do not have active skin infections or breakouts in the treatment area

Recovery After Morpheus8

No downtime is required after Morpheus8 treatments, but there is a short recovery period. During the week after your treatment, you will experience slight redness, and you may see micro-lesions. The redness and micro-lesions will disappear in a few days to a week.

Patients can apply makeup the day after treatment, and return to their work or their usual routine once the treatment is complete. 

To improve healing time and to make your results last for as long as possible, stay out of the sun, use sunscreen daily, and follow a healthy skin care regimen.

Results After Morpheus8

Initial results are visible 3-4 days after a Morpheus8 treatment. The more significant results take a little longer to appear. Your body is naturally rebuilding and regenerating your skin from the inside out. You will see more youthful, beautiful, firmer skin in about 3-4 weeks. Improvements will continue over the next few months. 

Depending on your age, lifestyle, and skincare regimen, results from Morpheus8 treatments last for 2-4 years.
