    What is Daxxify?

    Recently put on the market by Revance Therapeutics, Daxxify is a new, alternative option to the ever-popular BOTOX and other neuromodulators. Like BOTOX, it aids in fighting off moderate to severe frown lines and other signs of aging. Unlike other neuromodulators whose results only last for 3 to 5 months, the results of Daxxify have been proven to last for as long as six months.

    Like BOTOX, Daxxify works by inhibiting the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that plays a vital role in the central and peripheral nervous system by instructing muscles to contract. Upon injection into the face, Daxxify enables the muscles to relax. Once these muscles are relaxed, fine lines, wrinkles, and creases slowly start to dissipate, giving the skin a more youthful appearance.

    What Makes Daxxify Different From Other Neuromodulators?

    Like BOTOX and other neuromodulators, Daxxify is made with botulinum toxin. However, Daxxify is also infused with 35 different synthetic amino acids, which give the product a stabilizing effect. This effect is what makes the results of Daxxify last up to two months longer than BOTOX and other neuromodulator products.

    How Does The Procedure Work?

    Daxxify is a non-invasive treatment that takes only a few minutes to carry out. The injections are administered by way of an ultra-thin needle, meaning that no topical anesthetic will be required. However, patients can always request one if they want it. Once the procedure has been completed, patients can get back to school, work, shopping, and any other activities from their daily routines.

    What Is The Recovery Process Like?

    One of the big benefits of Daxxify is that it comes with no downtime or recovery period. While there are some after-effects such as minor swelling, bruising, or tenderness around the injection sites, they are normal. Furthermore, these conditions are usually mild and will be virtually unnoticeable to everyone but the patient. Beyond that, they usually dissipate within 24 hours of the procedure. 

    While there is no downtime, patients must make sure to avoid rubbing, touching, or scratching the treated areas following the procedure, as doing so can lead to the product spreading out into unintended areas of the face.
